I live on Saint Marks Place in Manhattan, New York ( I would hyperlink to more info about Saint Marks Place, but I’m a new user — UPDATE: added links — ), and have for the past three years. I have always come to this street though ever since I was a young teen, and punk fashion has always been a cornerstone in my life because of it. Search & Destroy was the first place I ever bought studded wristbands — and boy did I think I was hot **** with those things on!

This is the street where the original Manic Panic opened its doors in 1977. It’s the place where you will find the apartment building that is featured on the cover of Led Zeppelin’s 1975 album, Physical Graffiti. The home base for rebels in the City of New York, and the birthplace of American Punk Rock.

In adulthood, I didn’t want to be far from it, so I moved in and plan on being here for the rest of my days. Wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.

So what does punk fashion mean to me? A whole lot! I’ll tell ya that much.
