It sounds like he’s hip to basics

He’s a sophisticated music fan Pink Flag hits all the right spots

These days everything is so micro-labeled but Wire was introduced to me as a punk band so that’s always how I’ve thought of them

Holy crap. You all don't disappoint.

I'm going to start by listening to "Swell Maps" because the name is odd. I always gravitate towards odd.

Then you need Pere Ubu in your life on name alone. From the same Ohio scene as Devo and also oddball as ****. Maybe more punk but also more weird.

I'll prove you wrong by naming my sailboat after them and crossing the Pacific!

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

**** yes. I'll probably check out a few of those myself. I've basically been heavy on 60s/70s rock for the past year or so while shedding a lot of the classic rock stuff I listened to when I was younger without having the proper old school art rock education to replace those bands I've dropped.
