Urban is right. Sandinista's format is absolutely in tune with the current state of music, that is to say, not reliant on the concept of the album. I don't think it's meant to be listened to as one entity, but rather to be picked apart for what one likes as is done to so much music today. Way ahead of its time in that regard.

I definitely like and support what The Clash were doing with the album, it's just that as a whole, as an album, there's a lot of "meh" moments.
But on the plus side, some of their best songs are on that album. Somebody Got Murdered, Hitsville UK, Something About England, some great tunes in there.

I love this intro and song now You won't believe me, but I got into it from a dvd based on club culture
I couldn't find a thread solely on the clash so I'll ask here... Which albums would you recommend moi? I'm interested in what they have to offer .
