Post Hardcore
Good evening you fine african american gentlemen. So I was listening me some post hardcore the other day and proceeded to cream my pants. Bands like Big Black, Minutemen and Effigies, all amazing bands with great musicians and an interesting sound. It was happy times. Discuss your love for listening to post hardcore.
Post Hardcore has a place in my collection. I like listening to bands like Jawbox, Refused, Fugazi, etc.
Post Hardcore? no clue what the hell your talking about...
Greeley Estates, a local band, considers themselves "post hardcore" so you might wanna check them out on myspace. not my cup of tea, but whatever floats your boat. |
^Yeah Misfits recommended them to me as well. I really like 'don't look away', they are my cup of tea. Pure volume might be a better bet, they have don't look away for download on that one~
Greeley Estates is more screamo..but hawthorne heights is calling themselves post hardcore and greeley estates is way more hardcore than them.
Minutemen kicks ass..i <3 Spillage. |
The effigies have been around sense the 80s. Im so damn sick of this genre stuff. Seriously the people on this board have taken it to far. I used to agree that specific genres were kind of relavent but you people are driving me ****in nuts.
For the record they actually formed in 1979. During the first few years they had a hardcore sound. By the time they released INK their sound was quite alot different.
i dont know i like hardcore but dont know about post hardcore highly doubt i would like it if its anything like the above said hawthorne heights
Greeley Estates are post-hardcore? *Sigh* Ill never get the hang of this genre sh*t. I do like em though, from time to time...
Only thing that bothers me with them though, is how generic it sounds on first listen... I found more to em after a while though, so I guess its not too bad. Anyway, this is a post hardcore thread. I obviously have no effing idea what it is anymore, there's too many genres, sub-genres, post-genres and "nu"-genres as it is. Ill just step to the sidelines and pick the bands with the funniest name. Thats gotta be easier than all this. |
Genres used to have a place now its just people trying to sound cool by throwing random labels on things and other kids yelling at them for putting the wrong imaginary name on them. This board has taken it to the extreme.

The Refused were never really considered Post Hardcore, until all the bitches had to genranize (yeah new word) everything...
FAR. that is the answer. nothing more nothing less. get into it.
golden phoenix is another band that consider themselves "post-hardcore" theyre from Vacouver and are playing here in phx on sept 7th, thinking about checking it out.

Bump, cause I didn't feel like making a thread. I have a question, what exactly is post-hardcore?
i thought at the drive in were post hardcore?.....*shrugs*
Anything that sounds like early Fugazi. Or is a direct descendent of early Fugazi... I guess that includes "real" emo and **** like that... Rites of Spring and what not.
