black flag was a good band

they were punk.. true punk.. when they came out they were considered to be a punk band.. not hardcore.. but in todays eyes listening to them now they might seem hardcore but i can't see how.. anyways there punk good punk (i normaly hate/dislike more punk bands 'real' punk bands.. but i seem to like these guys)

i have black flag, damaged, 1981... tis is a good album

Black Flag is hardcore simple as that. I prefer the Circle Jerks.

Look at the genre. They leaned more towards hardcore though with their behavior and sound. So you both were somewhat right, Ethan more however. EIMP a band's genre doesn't change over time if they have stopped recording. Just because they seem hardcore today means they were hardcore back then same with punk. Would you call The Ramones Prog today because they "seem prog"?

Black Flag was one of the original hardcore acts *digs up posts*
