The Jealous Again EP is alright, but he had only did a handful of actual noteworthy songs in his entire career. Some of which were done better by the other vocalists. I don't even like to listen to Reyes sing certain songs on Everything Went Black because why bother? Dez did them better.
Why didn't you just say that then and not waste my time? You lost me at anybody being better then Reyes. Agree to disagree. Adios

I'm sorry to waste your time. I joined this site to discuss music. That's all I was trying to do. It seems weird to me that you admit to liking Off!, you admit the new Black Flag has no balls and the vocalist responsible for what's probably going to be one of the worst punk rock comeback albums ever behind is somehow still, the "best vocalist" Black Flag ever had. I think if that were true, he wouldn't have like...eight songs versus what? Twenty-two new songs? That's like a 3-1 suck-to-good ratio. That doesn't bode well for Reyes legacy. That's the point I was trying to make to you.

I'm sorry my argument as you've called it isn't up to par. I always found Morris in BF to not be up to my liking, could be the way their music was mixed on those albums. I think Dez was a decent enough vocalist but I also prefer Reyes to them. I think Reyes has a more raw sounding voice then both of them and it suits the BF songs I like better. OFF is something completely different then BF to me, and yes I do like all of the OFF EPS. I preferred Morris in Circle Jerks I think it was his calling. Rollins is another story, I can stomach the songs he did, but i don't like him fronting on the old songs. I hope this has cleared up the situation. Peace

Wasted is soo good though. I think the Nervous Breakdown EP is my favorite. I actually agree on Rollins, though I think My War is perfection I don't like listening to Damaged (I have a First Four Years/Everything Went Black playlist with Rise Above/Spray Paint on it) because the songs don't feel like his.

My War was excellent. Yeah I went back and threw on Damaged this weekend and it just doesn't register like it used to. Nervous Breakdown has its moments for sure. Through it all I love BF to death but something always kept me coming back to Reyes as my go to. I have the Everything went black stashed away somewhere, its one of the better retrospectives on their early work. I'm gonna still have to check out the new BF as godawful as the first two songs sound. I can almost get into the second song released, but it feels a little too long. Ginn really hasn't hit me hard with his guitar tone in a long while.

I'm going to (begrudgingly) listen to it also. I don't know what it is. Ginn has like, flares of greatness now but it's mostly meh. There's this real slow crawl to his riffs that use to be great in their early days (see My War actually) and now it's just like...something about that crawling can get really tedious. He's been missing it with me too. Did you hear the album he released before he announced the Black Flag reunion, by his band Good for You? It makes the new stuff more tolerable but only because it's mind-numbingly bad.

My friend had it. I vaguely remember it as I was three sheets to the wind. I remember my friend saying this can't be Greg Ginn!!! I just laughed and said yep and now you own it.
