black flag were more skate/drunk punk than hardcore.

they were one of the original hardcore bands. use of low fast riffs, yelling, and themes of family, standing together, and resisting opression are very commen throughout their music. Besides, early hardcore was punk.

they were hardcore back then and you gotta give them credit for being one of the first hardcore punk bands. music has just evolved since then. still black flag was a great band

yeah i mean wall of voodoo and billy idol were punk as heck back in the day but black flag rock oh yeah and WHITE wedding. I remember my friend thinking it was a racist song.

I say after 81, when Rollins became frontman.
No one ever talks about Greg Ginn or even Dez Cadena, without them, Black Flag would be nothing. If you ask me, Rollins fits well with his current job of being a TV tool for the DisLearning Channel.
