I like a lot of rap myself, i'm old school though, dont really like the new crap thats around, though i like some Eminem and Outkast, at least the stuff they did before Hey Ya, i freaking hate that song.

i really usd to like old outkast.. but as soon as i heard hey ya i hated it.. and it got way over played..

i just bitch about punk run offs because everyones ears are different.. and pic out different things in it.. and i know there's a lot of random stupid noob kids that go around to sites read that oh this band is emo this one isn't and then make up whole genres and and sub genres for it all.. then come up with big fake stories as to where that genre came from.. well kids just have fun convicing half the world that the used and taking back sunday, and all those other pop punk/punk rock bands aren';t emoish.. beucase all the music channels and all media makes them out to be emo...

Ha, there was this this guy named Archie from DigitalDreamDoor who used to make up genres for practically every band in existance, he would make up crap like space noise rock, art pop, electronic pyschedelic rock (which is what he considers Pink Floyd to be), pyschedelic pop, etc.

Well i try to be open minded to all genres, some genres are a big more dificult for me than others... I dont like a whole lot of metal but there are a good deal of metal bands i like, if someone recomends me a band i'll check them out, and i'll either love them, like them or hate them.

Prog, Alternative and even Punk are much more diverse for my tastes than Metal or Emo.

I do like some emo bands though.... I dont really think people give the "true" movement enough credit.

You don't like hair metal? Come on L.A Guns, Faster Pussycat etc are just fun bands everyone should like. I admit alot of hair metal is shit though.

The fact is arguing that Black Flag is a punk band or a hardcore band is stupid because they are the same thing as I have said too many times in this thread.

Are you saying hookers and I made up the whole emo history? How can taking back sunday and the used be emo when they don't even sound alike? If they were the same they'd have some similarities (like City Of Caterpillar and Circle Takes The Square). You've yet to prove how Alexisonfire are screamo, all you've said to it is "because i say so" which doesn't prove anything. If you have any reasons and factual opinion and etc.. to back it up then by all means make a thread in the emo forum and prove it instead of making cheap shots about it in other posts.

I didnt say i hate every band, there are a few bands i like that could fall into that category.

I love Guns N Roses and Van Halen, weither or not they fall into the hair metal category is still a matter of debate.

I just consider them good rock n roll myself, like AC/DC and Aerosmith.
