True. Their take on Corazon de Oro always impresses me.

There seems to be a large stigma about NOFX not being "real punk". Especially in the circle of people that introduced me to most of the punk that I know. There is a lot of hate for NOFX, even though they're one of the longest lasting punk bands, and they're still going strong. And they've always been honest about who they are. Why so much hate?

I Actually really like Nofx. I would like them a lot more if they were more hardocre (same with social distorition).

I've been thinking about this lately, too. I think a lot of the hate stems from 1) the image they portray to some and 2) they are a bit poppy at times, and for this, some may not feel completely comfortable calling this band punk. In fact, I don't even know if I can call them punk. Regardless of the genre they fall under or even call themselves, they're amazing musicians, and a lot of people don't take the time out to realize this. Upon my initial intro to NOFX, I loathed them. Fat Mike's vocals pissed me off. Then, I realized that they are one of the few musicians that know how to make fun of themselves. So, one day, I dissected The Decline for a school project. In doing so, I had to listen to it on repeat for hours. This changed my whole perspective on them and made me realize that being punk doesn't necessarily mean the sound or type of music you make. I've always viewed it more as a style, a way of living for most people. NOFX, to me are punk, and no, not wholly because of their sound, but the fact that they don't give a fuck about what anyone thinks. What they do care about, though, is something worth writing music for.

NoFX is the ****, my favorite punk band of all time, I have every single one of thier albums, their album 'I Heard They Suck Live' was the album that got me into 'punk' music. Theyre not out to put a show on for anyone, theyre not trying to get anyone to like them, and they dont give a **** what anyone thinks about them. They write music based on what theyve been though and what they belive in and this no bul**** approach mixed with a good sound make NoFX awesome IMO.
