Default Subway Sect Thread

One thread for this band from 2011 with only two responses. **** that. These dudes were one of the very first handful of bands along with the Clash and Buzzcocks to form after the Sex Pistols kickstarted punk in England, but they never got a chance due to lineup hell and having Bernie Rhodes' crazy ass as a manager. They recorded two singles at first ("Nobody's Scared" and "Ambition", both of which are amazing), broke up and regrouped with only Vic Goddard remaining, broke up again and recorded an unreleased debut with only Vic Goddard again. And then **** knows about their screwed up history, but they never got an inch of traction and are bizarrely obscure considering how awesome and clearly influential they are. Definitely the ultimate cult punk band.

They were beyond obviously the first British post-punk group and possibly were from day one in 1976, and if Joy Division didn't ape them in their early days then I'll eat my own dick. Dear god they need so much more love.

They got some singles and Peel sessions on Youtube for you to check out, but other than that you're going to have to dig and/or shell out bucks.
