Default List artists known for something else who used to play or still play in punk bands

Zach de la rocha played drums in one, guitar in another, and was the frontman of Inside out. Not too surprised, honestly. Rage has always had a kind of punk anger to it (lyrically too), set to tom morello's groovy guitar riffs. His vocals are a lot more abrasive on inside out. And the band's also a lot more generic than rage.

People seem to usually be surprised Frank Turner was in a (post) hardcore band called million dead, but for me it was the other way around. You can occasionally hear his voice yell like he used to in his folk rock outputs, and get to hear and see references of him liking punk. Not only was he in million dead and did he have another hardcore band before that, he's also in the not so serious mongol horde now.

For a while, Flea played bass in hardcore/punk rock band FEAR. Quite a lot simpler than what he plays now im the peppers.

Anywho, list more

I had no idea that ever played with FEAR.

The rapper and producer POS has been in several punk bands.

I know it from a Dutch RCHP documentary. Here's the clip: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YK8Q8awAjno

Ice T fronts a hip hop/crossover thrash hybrid called Body Count

From what I can find Flea doesn't appear on any Fear records. He might be the most overrated musician ever.

He just played live for a period of time. Overrated, sure, but he seems like a nice guy with a sense of humor that is very competent at his instrument, and I can't fault him for that.

and Les Claypool

Flea is a better musician than those whackoffs but the praise he gets including Rolling Stone declaring Flea the second greatest bassist EVER.

If Flea is better than Claypool, I've yet to see it. Claypool is definitely overrated as **** but at least he could back it up on some level, like Flea. I guess whay I'm saying is that I hate Victor Wooten.
