Yeah I do this at least twice a year and never have I actually seen modern hardcore acts, I have seen stars though.

All Pigs Must Die

More metal than punk, sure. Regardless this thing rips. Ben from Converge is on the drums and you can tell the influence right from the get. This isn't exactly unique in the realm of hardcore, but damn is it good at what it does.

They've got a new album supposedly coming this year so keep an eye out for that too.

I'm pretty sad that Gabe Serbian left because I think the band would've totally torn **** up under him, but Mike Patton has joined to deliver their first full-length album and it's pretty ****in' rad. Dave Lombardo is just so good at what he does it's hard to really focus on anything else throughout this album. The band does a really good job of changing their style to fit Mike Patton's vocals, and if I was a bigger fan of him I would probably like this thing even more. Even with my indifference to him, he gets point for putting his range on display and when I don't need to hear his obnoxious FNM style singing I'm happy.

Anyway, in terms of a stylistic direction these guys are clearly heavily influenced by crossover thrash 'cause of Dave obviously, but you can hear some of the heavier influences from Justin Pearson on bass too. Not really familiar with the guitarist but he handles himself quite well in the presences of 3 damn good musicians.

**** no. That **** is a boring ass Patton show that he performed while twenty miles deep in his rut. Serbian or nil.
