That's nothing. I heard JSB gave your mom the Bach Cock so hard that she went into a fugue state.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

At first I was confused about why you were dragging Deftones into the conversation. Ja I'm with you on Les Blousons Noirs, they're great.

Being this thread is for firstpunk band, well, this'd be a really short thread, since there can only be one first, right?

Naturally, The Ramones, The Clash and Sex Pistols are here.

Latter day=Green Day and Offspring.

I'll add:
Mc5
The Cramps
Social Distortion
Bad Religion

(and, I know...there's addl. genre-blending, as there sometimes is, the further back ya go...here, w/garage or rockabilly)

New York dolls (glam, yes, but punk, too)

? and the Mysterians is a pretty early example, but I don't think they were the first.

First band I ever listened to a lot that I associated with punk music was Green Day, back when I was a little kid. The first punk band that got me into the genre proper was Strung Out. That was the first band that sent me looking for more.

What was the first punk band you heard/loved and why?
The Offspring was the first I heard.
Probably the first I loved too, because I liked it when I heard.
But it's not of my punk rock/hardcore punk top today.

Conspiracy of One is a bombass power pop record.
