They broke up before my time so I never saw them live. Funny never thought of them as punk but I guess they were.

I guess cause of how early they were they didn't have a whole lot of other punk bands to copy, but they were definitely in the zeitgeist, and if they'd released Radios Appear a year later they'd probably have sounded at least a bit different.

The real movement started with the Pistols but as far as the earliest sign of punk rock in terms of sound goes, I'd say Los Saicos were easily the first mainly with the ''Proto-punk'' sound along with GR & Surf

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

It's first, not best, or else This Heat would have been the first punk band.

Yeah, I just kinda think that to really be a forerunner, the forerunner/'s in question should play the genre well to do it justice and establish it properly as well as be known and recognised as established forerunners

I feel that with Les Blousons, Surf and Blues are the main focus

I can see where you're coming from but for me, they have just the right amount of primitivism to fit the bill based on what Tristan posted.
