I have been binge listening The Gun Club all week (497 plays according to last.fm)

I had known about them for years and periodically revisited Fire of Love and sometimes Miami, but they didn't click until recently. Their entire discography is fantastic, and I especially like their live albums.

I think "Sheena Is a Punk Rocker" is finally challenging the Stooges' "Your Pretty Face Is Going to Hell" as the most perfect rock song ever recorded for me. I just can't deal with how savage either song is but I think the ecstatic energy and pop majesty of "Sheena" combined with the transition in the music during the chorus into that brutal, all-encompassing riff perfectly in sync with the bass and drums might be too much for Iggy to compete with. I honestly feel my chest physically ache like my entire body is trying to stop and listen.
