But "Neat Neat Neat" and "New Rose" are legit two of the best punk songs ever made and I seem to remember that "Feel the Pain" is a brilliant proto-goth song. But they have a consistency problem. And even if I like Machine Gun Ettiquette I don't love it.

Whereas The Misfits are just a constant stream of fun dumb anthems.

Never listened to the second album but the first does sound like an album written by one guy who was just doing some pub rock **** the whole time before he was really in The Damned, which is exactly what rhe Damned's first album is.

Except the first album was in fact written mostly by their first guitarist Brian James while in bands before The Damned.

Which as far as I know is why the second album isn't highly regarged because the rest of the band hadn't come up with their own songs and Brian James was simply out of songs.
