I don't think the 30 plus crowd realizes that the music scene, and music in general, doesn't have the same social relevance that it did when say me and Bob were growing up.

Sure music is still popular, but I find that for the 18 to 24 age group, punk is in because nostalgia and old music is in. Seems like internet mining for songs of the past in the new trend. People don't meet up at record stores and alternative cafe's anymore.

Personally I think gaming has surpassed music in terms of popularity with the youths today....I do find that kind of sad.

As for punk, I can't believe people on here still idealize it like some special lifestyle that must be protected. Johnny Rotten is 60 f'n years old. Punk has no relevance anymore, it was a genre for disenfranchised white kids in the 80's, it's dead, get over it!...that is not aimed at you Bob

Well, when I was at that Bad Religion show here in Amstrdam there were still plenty of teens and adults alike going crazy for them. But yeah I get what you mean, Punk as a lifestyle is getting less and less relevant, which is pretty sad. No clue why Indie Rock is so big these days, they should check out some Punk Rock instead :P.

I can easily find peers also into Metal, but god damn it Punk isn't popular. It's hard to find others my age who love it as much as I do.

I never thought you were punk rock. And William the punk rock scene is actually still thriving rather well in California. I realize its 2016.

I don't think he meant the scenes aren't thriving, but that it's just become a lot less relevant.
And while yeah you never thought I was Punk Rock, the quote you dhad did assume I claimed myself to be a punk, which is why I said it.

I'm tired of the whole what is and isn't punk. Frankly I don't give a damn. But that's just me I guess.

Sometimes when I go to punk shows, I like causing aneurysms by telling people how much I love Green Day and how The Dead Kennedys are ****.

I'm sick of how close minded punks are in what they deem punk, it's not as narrow of a genre as they often make it out to be.
