From what I've been told they're older stuff was punk, but they're popular stuff definitely is not very punk. Pop punk. Which could easily just be considered alternative rock.

Dookie is a fun album just throwing it out there don't mind me I'm just mopping up this puddle of vomit no need to pay any attention to what I say I'm gonna mosey on down to the vending machine and hope I have enough for a bag of Doritos OMFG WHY IN THE **** WOULD ANYTHING BE MORE THAN A DOLLAR IN A VENDING MACHINE $1.25 ARE YOU KIDDING ME WHAT IS THIS NAZI GERMANY but seriously Dookie is a fun album.

One of those few albums from my teen years that I should probably get my hands on again. That and Smash by Offspring.
