1. Popular music.

2. Music that's hella catchy or some ****, like Britney Spears and ****.

it was for the best though because their attempt at a punk rock cover album sucked sweaty balls

they got out of Gilman because they released an album on a major label/"sold out" and the venue banned them for it even though they still wanted to play those small shows.

I always thought of Greenday as pop-punk and alternative. Now, personally I'd be more likely to lump pop-punk acts with pop music over punk music, but that's just me.
