Wasn't really impressed at first, but the song Batty posted actually isn't bad.
Might get into them eventually.

I defly dig T. Rex, but The Modern Lovers just have this great energy about them that is both generic and unique (don't know how to explain that). Their debut is one of my favorite proto-punk/70s albums.

Alternative >>> Post-Punk >>> Punk

Each derivative is better than the last.

SUGGEST ME AN ALBUM - I'm probably not going to listen to it but I will if you bother me enough.

Isn't alternative basically boring-ass pop-rock?

Everything that isn't equal to or weirder than Tom Waits is "boring-ass pop-rock" to you.

So no.

Tom Waits is neither particularly weird, nor a particular favourite of mine.
I also repped T.Rex in this very thread just a few posts ago, so I obviously don't have anything against pop music.

Alternative is basically just the name for 60s and 70s art rock from the 80s and on. The separating line being punk and post-punk. But it's really all on the same line of inspiration.

Indie is boring-ass pop-rock.

I never really got what art rock is supposed to be. Still not sure whether I agree with you.
Indie does truly suck ass though.
