NOFX

Great band, even today. Might even be one of the hardest working bands in the punk scene. They've put out so many albums and they tour almost constantly. They've never lost their edge and kept to their values, they've remained on small or indie labels (Fat Mike's Fat Wreck Chords) and haven't tried to be anyone but themselves.

Rancid

A great band, they picked up punk and really embraced it and promoted it. The one thing that plays on my mind with Rancid is that punk isn't a fashion sense or a way to dress but they dress like cliche punks and I've always thought some of the albums sounded like Ramones with two guitars and a bit more shouting.

The Offspring

One of the worst offenders of selling out in my mind, their early stuff is really honest, great and catchy. But then they didn't just sell the music out they sold themselves off as well. They took a great band that came from a local scene and turned it into some radio friendly punk band. Saying that however, Conspiricy Of One is amaze balls.

Like / meh / were alright

idk why nofx gets such a bad rep, they're a little childish but they're a good band. 'the decline' song is 18 minutes of pop punk goodness, that's 18 non stop minutes of catchy and diverse pop punk hooks, that sh*t ain't easy to pull off

Rancid apart from having a great bassist doesn't impress me much.

Offspring used to be good but ever since Americana they've changed for the worst. As Lee mentioned above, they sold out in a very apparent way and ruined what little credibility they had.
