The Heartbreakers - L.A.M.F. (1977) The debut and only studio release by The Heartbreakers. Don't bother with the original (inferior) LP mix, instead, track down a recording of the original (far superior) cassette mix and crank it up! |

The Clash - Give 'Em Enough Rope (1978) Not quite as raw as the self-titled debut album but not quite as varied in style as 'London Calling.' If I had to choose between the first 3 Clash albums, this would be my favorite. |

Whaa, their debut is so much better, imo. For Crass I either would've gone with Feeding of the 5000 or Stations of the Crass.
20. Stiff Little Fingers - Inflammable Material [1979] One of my favourite 80's punk songs ''Suspect Device'' is on here :P. Too lazy to update the album index atm, I'll do it some other time. |

21. The Muffs - "Blonder and Blonder" - 1995
Through the 1990's, many Punk bands began to develop a progressively darker and heavier tone, eventually leading them towards what would become the Hardcore sound. However, there was still a handful of bands that preferred the lighthearted feeling of early Punk acts like The Ramones, and they drove their sound towards Pop-Punk and Skate-Punk. Few bands managed to walk the line between the emerging light and dark sounds without losing their balance, and none were able to do it in as grand a fashion as The Muffs. With clean harmonies alongside brutal screams, as well as thrashy guitar riffs and simplistic lyrics supported by surprisingly technical drum and bass work, The Muffs managed to successfully merge both sides of the Punk equation, and set an example for how a band could be light-hearted without losing their edge. "Blonder and Blonder" was their second album, and it's truly where they began to shine as a band, as they managed to fix some of the flaws that their first album had (namely, the lack of variety). It's a fantastic album that manages to capture an influential (yet often overlooked) band in their prime. As a body of music, it demonstrates everything they were capable of, and it's also a snapshot of an interesting point in time in the history of music.
