Underrated Punk bands.
 

What do you think are some underrated punk bands? Bands you think deserve to be more well known?

I think Really Red and Big Boys are pretty underrated.
People barely know about them, yet they're great. Dicks are pretty good too.

I recently discovered X. No, not the Los Angeles X, X from Australia. Also a punk band formed in the same year.

So what punk bands do you think deserve some more credit?

I think the old school LA band The Skulls should be more well known then they are.

I saw them live and bought a pretty awesome DVD off of them.

Totally yeah for Dicks and Big Boys. Great bands. Never heard of The Skulls or Really Red.

They're one of those bands who kinda blur the line between Punk and Indie Rock but Squirrel Bait are fantastic and relatively unheard of. Also The Gun Club.

Gun Club is excellent, they tend to get some praise from various outlets though. My faves in the underground are clearly Disguster and Co-dependents. I think judging from Bob's Smut Peddlers thread that they are underrated also.

Punk really hit a stride in the early 00s...I think its hard to be beat bands like Rufio, Anti-Flag, or 88 Fingers Louie

At the time, I thought all 3 bands were among the better live punk acts around and thought they deserved more recognition than they got.

I think Australian punk is heavily underrated. Bands like The Scientists, Radio Birdman, and The Saints don't get nearly enough attention overseas. Even more so that those three is The Drones, a modern punk band better than any other that barely anybody ever mentions.

Any X that isn't Exene and John Doe etc it's irrelevant tbh

I kinda wanna say that Crass are seriously underrated but that'd be clouded by the fact 80% of people who say they're fans are lying.

Anarcho punk bands are criminally underrated tho, Poison Girls and Omega Tribe especially.
