Favourite grindcore band

Admittedly not the greatest grindcore fan, but I'm kind of bored with all the wussy posts in this forum, and I have a few days off to waste my brain on nonsense so what is your favourite grindcore band???

(Ps someone should extend the time limit on adding a poll)

Napalm death

Terrorizer

Pig Destroyer

Nasum

Brutal Truth

Extreme Noise Terror

Insect Warfare

Nails

Wormrot

Anal ****

Wow! I particularly like this one, cool video too. I have never heard of this band ,you my friend are grind to the core, thanks for sharing.

Janszoon 07-04-2014 06:55 PM

Several of my favorites have already been mentioned (Gridlink, Discordance Axis, Pig Destroyer, Brutal Truth, Nails, Agoraphobic Nosebleed). A lot of my favorite grindcore groups are the ones who push the envelop of what the genre is, such as:

Psychofagist. Jazzgrind + kitchen sink.

Swarrrm. I love the sense of dynamics in their songs.

Whourkr. Collaboration between crazy breakcore guy Igorrr and vocalist Mulk.

Ah bit grindcore, very good! I have never heard that before. I like the first video you posted to. Unfortunately I don't know too many experimental grindcore bands outside of Naked Lunch, but I had thrown up these guys on the hardcore countdown I did way back. Grindcore plus Ska

Who says grindcore is a failed genre.

Heh. That's great! I'm going to have to check those guys out!

Who says that? Grindcore is one of my favorite types of loud music.

Well because grindcore is rooted in punk, I've met a lot of people who think its talentless garbage that has never gone anywhere because it doesn't have the technicality of death metal, and then of course, there are the pop fans who find it an unbearable shriek of noise, but what can I say, I think everyone could use a good grind now and then.

You should play some Gridlink or Psychofagist to those people. Talk about freaking technical.

Alright I don't list to all that much grindcore, but when I do I consider it to be one of the high watermarks of extreme metal. Primitive, ugly, sloppy **** like Terrorizer, early Carcass, Impetigo, Repulsion, etc. What else is like this? I need more. MORE.

How about a little Chainsaw To The Face?

Also, have you ever checked out any powerviolence bands? Not to go off on a tangent from the topic of the thread, but if you want primitive, ugly, sloppy music it delivers those things in spades. A few examples:

Charles Bronson

Spazz

Fuck on the Beach

hate paper doll 07-08-2014 10:57 PM

Oh man, Charles Bronson. I haven't listened to them in ages.

bob. 07-09-2014 09:53 AM

would you really call Charles Bronson or Spazz grindcore?

i mean there is a small difference between grindcore and powerviolence right? :)

*putting on Dropdead LPs :)

wow....i am an idiot and i'm proud

Definitely Power Violence. I always preferred Infest to Bronson and Spazz, but both are good.

bob. 07-09-2014 10:23 AM

what!?

personally i prefer Spazz to all of them.....but Charles Bronson will always have a special place in my youth crew heart :)

Eh personal preference. I never saw the big deal with CB, but I certainly like Spazz.

bob. 07-09-2014 10:37 AM

Spazz was bay area and good friends with local legends Fall Silent....so they played here all the time....and of course we had Satans Pimp Records and the infamous GOB

not that whinny shit from Canada....this is Reno bitch!

I was recommending powerviolence as a little tangent to the grindcore discussion.

Hence my I am an idiot comment :)

First Frequency Space 07-16-2014 11:47 AM

Drumcorps - Down

William_the_Bloody 02-06-2015 12:54 AM

Yep this guy is good. Blast beat heaven.

Dylstew 02-06-2015 02:06 AM

Dicordance Axis, although I didn't listen to a lot of them

grindy 02-06-2015 02:31 AM

Japanische Kampfhörspiele

Mondo Bungle 02-06-2015 02:58 PM

and here I pegged you for a Parlamentarisk Sodomi guy

GlendaNguyen 04-23-2015 06:26 AM

What you share the video,is not that type of cool what i am looking for,I would be very happy if you share some amazing music with me.

Dylstew 04-25-2015 10:30 AM

That latest Agoraphobic Nosepleed album, Nasum and Discordance Axis are my favourites at the moment

Mondo Bungle 04-25-2015 08:12 PM

The new Captain Cleanoff album is great

Mr. Sir 04-26-2015 06:30 AM

Choosing one band is pretty hard. Although Pig Destroyer was a damn monster on Prowler in the Yard, it would still end third after Agoraphobic Nosebleed and Cloud Rat, who respectively end second and first. Ask me the same thing tomorrow and I'll have a different answer ready though.

Fringe 05-07-2015 04:03 PM

Recently my favourites have been nails, gridlink and napalm death. That new napalm death album is fantastic imo

Michael Myers 05-31-2015 05:25 PM

You needed to ask me this 5 years back. I was into grindcore and deathcore a lot. Is Job For A Cowboy considered grindcore? Then I'll just go with that one seeing they have the most plays on my last.fm acc.

No. No they are not. This is grindcore...

Michael Myers 05-31-2015 05:35 PM

Apparently they are deathcore. However people have been tagging them as grindcore as well. It's not bad though, just not my thing anymore. Would've appreciated it years back.

Exo 06-04-2015 07:13 PM

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Daughters. They're grindcore right?

grindy 06-05-2015 11:12 AM

Anyone else likes Siege?
Great proto-grind from way back.

Hmm I love Daughters and they're close enough to grindcore with the mathcore and noise rock influences but I would still hesitate to call them grindcore. Idk, the jury is still out as far as I'm concerned.

The jury has returned: they're grindcore.

I'll take your word for it. Daughters sounds a lot different from most grindcore groups to me, which is why I made the distinction. Still, I don't listen to the genre much even though I don't particularly have anything against it so my perspective of its diversity might be a bit off.

Exo 06-06-2015 08:34 AM

Their self titled is definitely not nearly as chaotic as their other stuff. Canada/Hell Songs, at least to me, are modern grindcore albums.

Also I feel the need to mention, for my own ego, that my friends band, in high school, opened up for Napalm Death. I saw Napalm Death with about 20 other people in a dank as bar in Asbury Park. That sh*t was wild. Those guys are true champions. They'll play anywhere.
