Husker Du or The Replacements?
Who wins in this Twin Cities cage match? Do you prefer the musicianship of the Huskers or the sloppiness of The Replacements? Who was the better songwriter, Hart and Mould or Paul Westerberg? Which band was more influential - you could say that without Husker Du there might not be a Pixies, but on the other hand The Replacements had an influence on artists like Uncle Tupelo and Wilco. What do you think?

I love both bands but I've always felt that The Replacements resonated with me more. Husker Du were better at aggressive punk and were more inventive than The Replacements but I think the latter were better at writing melodic, bittersweet songs.
I prefer Tim and Let It Be to the best Husker Du albums and I've definitely played them more.

I am not sober enough to answer this question. If I were sober, it would still be a defeatingly difficult questions.
