I just love hearing this woman run her mouth. 30 seconds in and she namedrops Sade, Genet and Foucol. Between this, making postpunk noise and the appearances in Richard Kern's films, she appeals to me in all sorts of ways. Won't have the time to listen to the whole thing for a few days but can't ****ing wait to hear the conspiracy theories. Bring em on

Another bad take from someone I consider to be the king of bad takes.

That was pretty funny though ngl.

I am not a big Steely Dan fan, but Can't Buy A Thrill and The Royal Scam are nice, groovy pop albums that are great to listen to while driving.

As for Sex Pistols and Ramones, I consider both equally lame and worthless.

Not my favourite punk(ish) band but yeah, they're fun, especially live.

That's pretty on brand for him, though. The whole appeal was that it was just dumb schoolboy antics only on national television. Back then it refreshing compared to all the buttoned up "professional" classic rock bands and the at times sanctimonious activism of guys like Dylan or NY era Lennon. Maybe not as refreshing now, though.

I dunno, "ironically" repping fascism was never part of the appeal for me. It wasn't cool when Sid Vicious wore swastika shirts and it's not cool when Lydon promotes Trump. I understand that they did it for shock value, but I'm not really shocked so much as I roll my eyes and groan. This is my perspective as a Jewish transgender woman.

For the record, I still think the Pistols were an excellent musical act.

Who needs ironic fascist punks when we already have Skrewdriver? Precious, precious Skrewdriver.

Relistened to Ramones and SP just to be sure and to see whether my perception hasn't changed. It hasn't. That **** is lame and limp and aged horribly. Older bands like Stooges have tons more energy and the only reason I'd listen to something like this is for the energy.

Take it from someone who knows a thing or two about rock music, the Pistols were a great band and Lydon is extremely talented https://www.youtube.com/shorts/tzt-L18ZCsc
