I don't recall that many Joy Division imitator bands. In the early Eighties there was a local band in Boston named The Dark that explored a lot of the same emotional territory as Joy Division but really didn't sound like Joy Division. I'm not sure what happened to The Dark... They simply disappeared into thin air after a couple of years.

Certainly, Joy Division wasn't the first band to explore the dark side of reality, but few band were so utterly convincing as Joy Division was.

White Lies sounds like a "lite" version of Joy Division, but they came on the scene 30 years after the death of Ian Curtis.

Wow.. i just realised interpol does sound alot like Joy division but like a more polished version of them.

i always associated the deep voice as being similar but now thinking about it they are also similar rhythm wise although Interpol has way better timing than joy division.

Im srry if what i said is very obvious but i literally just figured this out now after reading this thread lol
