Default The Insaints

I only heard of this band recently, which is disappointing. I love their sound and especially Marian Anderson's voice.

A documentary was made about the band/her (Live Fast Ride...) and I can't wait to see it.

She made her money working as a dominatrix and overdosed to death at 33. Here she is shown in a short clip of a live performance and also talking about her life and her work in footage from an old documentary about teenage runaways.

and some more music..

Sounds to me that you have been quite fortunate in not finding them sooner.

A documentary narrated by Henry Rollins it should be noted, they were also associated with the same Gilman scene as Blatz, Green Day, and Rancid. They're good, they remind me of the Avengers but probably suffer from G.G. Allin syndrome where they're more of a live act than a recorded act, but oh well.

Yeah, I noticed all of that. The GG syndrome is unfortunate but what initially got my attention is the vocals, which remind me of Slant 6. The documentary may be a disappointing chronicle of stage antics but I've got their Sins Of Saints compilation and it's good all the way through.

Well I mean they do have the whole "actually making good music thing" over G.G.
