I like their older stuff, and was listening to it back when it first came out. Their new stuff isan't awesome (at least what I have heard), and the whole "political" thing just annoys me. I probably won't be buying any new Greenday CDs. I might get some of the older ones, but there are a ton of other CDs on the list ahead of it.

^Yeah the political thing bugs me too. I dont like Green Day, so I very very very rarely listen to them. But, I know there hasnt been a dramatic change in their music. Its not as if they used to be punk, now theyre pop, as everyone says. Ok, they might have changed a bit, but the pop scene has changed more than Green Day themselves. People just cant handle that though.

But anyways PhishFood, thats why theyve gathered hate methinks.

Because everyone is doing it now, they never used to be like it, and now all the children around that listen to Green Day will be completely "Anti-Bush" or whatever and they know nothing about what is going on.

I have no problem with it as long as they understand why they're hating him. But they dont, and it annoys me.

You live in England and even you understand this, unlike some people around here...

Mayyyyyybe Green Day actually have that opinion on politics nowadays. This is the first album they have released since Bush got into power not including international superhits methinks.

Incidentally - some better old tracks are

Burnout
Redundant
Basket Case
Good Riddance
I Want To Be On TV
Macy's Day Parade
Misery
Warning
Waiting

They're just a few good ones.

But i must say the quality of Wake Me Up When September Ends is absolutely brilliant (in my opinion).

Something tells me certain people wouldn't be complaining if it was the 20th thread of one of their favourite bands - but there we go.

Furthermore - what the **** is this 4th band member in W.M.E.W.S.E video....i dont like it when bands do that - if you're a trio you stick as a trio...sigh.

And good for them if they do, its their music after all. Its the following that seems to come from them doing this that annoys me. By all means, "rebellion and anarchy" or whatever you wanna call it to make yourselves feel better, but at least learn about what youre rebelling against first.

greenday arent that great. they are just like every other band. and i would hardly call them punk, they sing a song about walking down a bouevard of broken dreams, and in their video start crying while walking down the same street 3000000000 times
