Cool The Germs

Anybody else a fan of The Germs? If you haven't heard them just know that they were a hugely influential band. The drummer left the band to start the Go-Go's (We got the beat) and then the guitarist Pat Smear was an official member of NIRVANA towards the end and then he joined up with Dave Grohl to play with the Foo Fighters for a good number of years and he's still playing with them today! Also Shane west went on to have a pretty good movie/tv career.

If you haven't heard them you should go check out GI! I just bought it on vinyl last week

The Germs are great, but I always thought it was super lulzy that Darby Crash killed himself to get the Germs famous.....but he killed himself on the day that John Lennon got shot

that's like my favourite joke of all time, oh my god

I know! I mean, it shouldn't be funny but it is just so hilarious, you know? Like, you want to get your band famous, and you kill yourself on the day one of the biggest musicians in the world gets shot. Talk about horrible timing!!

but these are my favourite Germs tunes

The Album GI that joan Jett produced (and rumor has She slept though it) is to me, on e of the most intense and important Punk Rock albums of all time. But that's just my opinion.
I'm new here, just stumbled across the place, so hello, my name is Christopher.

I really think Darby had more on his mind than making the GERMS famous. He was a mess, probably full on addicted to Smack, alcohol, who knows what else.
I don't think Darby/Bobby Pyn/Jan Pual Beahm was a really happy camper. He was gay and constantly worried about being outed with that, he did the Darby Crash band which was a let down.
The Germs did a Germs return show and from what I've heard and read it was the best ever. If he wanted to get his band fame the last way to pull it off is with a suicide pact with this girl Casey Cola, someone no one liked. So after he died and she didn't I read that she had to leave LA because people.
kept attacking her and cutting her tires.
Read the book Lexicon Devil if you really care, it is a series of interviews telling the germs story. It's so much better than that Shane West movie. What Puke.
