for me it would be
the ramones
social d
green day
iggy pop
the clash
and the sex pistols

Exploited/Subhumans/Crass/Black Flag/Filth

Dead Kennedys, Bad Brains, The Cramps, Cock Sparrer

70's-Sex Pistols and Crass.
80's-The Exploited and GBH (come on, how many jackets do you see without these two on?).
Modern-The Casualties and Rancid (like it or not these two bands have a great influence in upcoming punk bands).

The Clash, Buzz****s, The Stranglers & Stiff Little Fingers

stiff little fingers were awesome.

Till recently they were still gigging, not sure if they still are though!

I picked Green Day because they've just contributed so much to the punk scene that words can't even describe......

Other than that my influences are..The Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Ramones, The Dead Kennedys, The Exploited, The Germs, Black Flag, The Circle Jerks, and Minor Threat.

New York Dolls, The Stooges, MC5 and Link Wray, the godfather of punk.

i dont know a whole lot about punk but from what i gather, the misfits popularized shocking lyrics, so they had a definite influence.

Wtf........ anyways the band that most influenced em into real punk is definitely The Dead Kennedys....... I agree though that the furture will be influenced by bands like The Casualties.

exactly. the punk of today was influenced by yesterday's bands, and tomorrow will be influenced by today's.

The problem I see is that punk is so splintered that there will be 100 gernes all competing to be called "punk" I it already starting to happen today......... also I cna't leave out the Ramones as an influence.
