CM Punk was late to the party anyway. The whole Brown slapping Rihanna around situation was all but defused by the time Punk chimed in.
Anyway, Punk's a pro wrestler he knows how to work an audience and to get them either rallying behind him or outraged by his antics, so he only called Brown out to get a reaction.
It was never going to lead anywhere.
