Default The new Misfits

I will always love The Misfits but I feel like they are slowly drifting away from punk and now they're mixing classic style riffs in with the new material. Feel free to correct me if you feel I'm wrong.

Their latest release was in 2011, so i'm not sure what you mean by "new" Misfits.

What I mean to say is more of "compared to the Danzig all the way up to American Psycho/Famous Monsters era" rather brand new because I know Jerry has been keeping it going for awhile now. The only reason why I still consider it "newer" is because I grew up listening to the Danzig and Graves' lineups and it just seems new to me. Sorry if I was contradicting myself at all

There are definitely two incarnations of The Misfits. The current lineup is a lot different than the classic lineup.

Misfits now are too much a brand, and not enough of a band. Jerry Only is pretty much a joke now (well... he has been for some time)

I remember trying to listen to that last album they did, it was dreadful. Everything that made them great is gone, now they are a boring overproduced mess... producing things for Best Buy and raking in money.

That is my issue with them, if they spend more time on the band and making it good, and less time on the brand and pushing it in Best Buy... they may be alright. But as is, they are pathetic now.

Bands are obviously going to change if they continuously have different members. It can't be expected for them to be the same as they were in previous albums. people have different styles, ideas, and more. I was a huge fan of Misfits older work in high school and when I went to see them around the same time, I was surprised by how different they were live not only because of the performance but they simply didn't sound the same.
I realize now that they are such different people, it would be even more annoying if they simply tried to act like the members before them.

I can still expect them to not be just some pop punk knockoff with a few hardcore touches that I could get from fifty million different bands. And I can expect them to not put out a bunch of filler to go along with the few okay songs and couple of genuinely good songs.

Not really. They are different people in a different band.
You can't really expect much.
