I love Fat Mike. I love NOFX as well.. Yes, they are sub par musicians, but they are aware of it. That is their charm for me... they arent trying to be pretentious musically... read Fat Mike's reviews of his own albums on the Fat Wreck webpage... even he admits himself they are shitty most of the time.
Their charm to me is in how they just accept it, and manage to keep going and never stop. They are like to Punk Rock what Bill Clinton was to politics, pretty much comes out and announces they are full of crap, but you will love them cause they do it so well. They are like the B-Movie version of punk... terrible in many ways, but a lovingly crafted kind of terrible that is not that bad if you just turn your brain off and enjoy it for what it is... intentionally awful, but delivered with passion... much like watching an Ed Wood movie. So yeah, you think they suck.... they do too... and that is their charm. Plus, their live shows are a ton of fun.

I can never bring myself to give NOFX a real chance. The only song I've heard by them is "Don't Call Me White" and the vocals just make me cringe.

51.5 an Interlude 1 (Beatdown Hardcore & Homocore)
Since no one responded to this post, I can covertly redo the whole thing without anyone noticing.... heh heh, via pairing up two genres that share a striking similarity to each other. The first being Beatdown Hardcore. Hard music featuring muscled macho boys with tats getting all sweaty with their hard, hard, nipples.... mmmm yummy!, and the second is homocore, hardcore for rebellous same sex fans. Now to be fair I avoided the real cheesy beatdown bands, so here's a good one. The first time I heard these guys I thought they were from Boston or New York, but it turns out they're from Germany, a problem that I'm having with this whole genre on a whole, but these guys get a pass because they sound pretty good. Too Gross Genre (Beatdown Hardcore) Germany era, Modern Down With The Devil Thell Barrio Genre (Beatdown Hardcore) Mexico era, modern Some pretty cool Beatdown hardcore from Mexico. It could use some more cowbell though. I can't show their video though because the words F - A - G are in the youtube link. mmmmmmm, Latino men, Hot! Hot! Hot! MI VERDADERA FAMILIA ULTIMHATE Genre (Beatdown Hardcore) France era, modern Finally some beatdown hardcore from France , oh ya baby this video has got all the sweaty boys, its going to get me rock hard!!! PISS ON YOUR GRAVE Wisdom in Chains Genre (Hardcore) Pennsylvania USA, era modern Now Wisdom in Chains is pretty much a straight up hardcore band, and a good one at that, but the bro bonding in this video is so hot!!! big burly men with tats, hugging each other, arm in arm with prison benchpress chests, dripping with sweat, beers in hand, it's got me so excited I'll have to do a Youth of Today scream "whoooa aaa whooaa aaa weeeee!!!" My Friend All right for the record I'm straight, but I just don't like the homophobic attitude of a lot of young beatdown hardcore fans, so the genre needs to have the piss taken out of it. Homocore Okay now for the homocore, lets start off with Youth of Togay, no! not Youth of Today, I mean... Youth of Togay!!! Youth of Togay Genre (Beatdown Hardcore/Homocore) Boston USA, era modern TOUGH GAYS next up... Limp Wrist Genre (Thrashcore/Homocore) New York USA, era 00's/modern Fake ***s **** Off and Does Your Daddy Know Finally, we can't have the guys stealing all the spotlight, so I give you one of my favourite powerviolence bands at the moment, Rape Revnege! Vegan lesbians from my home country. Rape Revenge Genre (Power Violence/Homocore) Alberta, Canada, era modern Root Of Apathy Last edited by William_the_Bloody; 07-24-2013 at 06:05 PM. |

They're just what I like most about music, having fun and getting messed up at the same time, holding it together with subpar ability resulting in great songs. |
