Wow I honestly thought by his diligence in defense of the LGBT community that he had to be gay. He literally talked about it for a half hour when I saw his Spoken word. Not that any of it matters to begin with, but he has a real passion for it and other causes that kind of radiates from his body. I think he is one of the more interesting people thats existed in the hardcore community and hes certainly grown from his earlier days in DC.

He is what he is, he's more of an Andrew Dice Clay douche bag character than anything else. To my knowledge Mr Miliano hasn't crossed my personal threshold, and although I am pretty liberal with music... I do have one.

No worries, a lot of people have mistakened him for being gay, not just for his passionate defense of the LGBT community, but because he has become a masculine sex icon within the homosexual community. In short, they think he's hot.

Iskra Genre (Blackened Crust/Anarcho Punk) British Columbia, Canada, era modern

Death From Above 1979:

Although they're often labeled as dance punk, Canadian act, Death From Above 1979, play some straight up punk rock.

There are two things that make this band unique. The first is that it consists of only two members, and the second is that there is no electric guitar. That's right, all the power chords you hear being slammed down are from a distorted bass, pretty cool.

They broke up a few years ago, but have just announced they've reformed and are working on a new record.

What I was really saying is that he reminded me of some of those people I kinda knew in the Portland punk/metal/hardcore scene in the early-mid 1990's. They (meaning the handful of people that I'm describing, and not the majority of the people in that community) were the same way, they'd claim to not be racist then complain about the sand n***ers that they bought their forty-ouncers of Olde English 800 from.

56. Abhinanda Genre (Post Hardcore/hardcore) Sweden, era 90's

Snapcase Genre (Post Hardcore/hardcore) New York, era 90's

I already mentioned that my musical taste is flawed, and that I don't like the post hardcore of the 90's, (I actually loath most of it) but I figured that I should probably have something on the list to represent the genre, before I finish the final five and burn out of here.

Thus I give you Abhinanda, a band that took what was coming out of America to a whole new level, so knock yourself out.

Next up, my favourite post hardcore band of all time.

Did you base this list on your own personal taste? If so, you're ranking of 140 bands is super difficult for me to understand and so I gave up trying a while back. Death From Above 1979 beat all of the 83 bands you already mentioned??! This is not a criticism btw, it's nice to have my mind-boggled by a fan with such a subjective take on what even counts as hardcore/punk.

I'm with the others on Scratch Acid vs. Jesus Lizard but you've still got 54 bands to go which is batshit crazy to me. At this point I'm mostly just curious about your choices. I'm not asking you to explain them, I'm just fascinated. And remember that Botch ranks at 42.2

I haven't 100% agreed with WtB's choices, and I'm not nearly as knowledgeable in the genre (I love this music but I've also got a metric ton of mellow in my taste), in either event I think WtB has done an amazing job on this.
