I made a thread on them, got a few new listeners. But this EP ("Against the Glass) is amazing. Highly recommended if you can find a copy of it. I got on off EBAY for $40 (it is a bit of a rarity now - I have seen copies pop up on there and go for double that)
Yes I know, I don't have them rated as high on the list as say DOA, but Slow is my personal favourite Canadian punk band of all time. Consider yourself lucky enough to have a copy of the ep, it is one of the most sought after punk albums out there, the "I broke the circle" split single is even more rare, someone told me the collectors price is astronomical. I can't even find the songs for download, so if you have them, or any of their early songs "please" upload them.

They have often been dubbed the Nirvana that never was, apparently they got signed to the majors and were going to get pushed as the next big thing, but they did a strip show at Expo 86, were dropped as a consequence, and then shortly imploded afterwards.

Hey I was just able to download the Broken Circle ep off of soulseek, but if you ever get a hold of this please let me know. It has Slow's first ever recorded song, plus some Death Sentence songs I have never heard.

66. Minor Threat Genre (Hardcore) ,Virginia USA era 80's &

Fugazi Genre (Post Hardcore), Virginia USA, era, 80's/90's

Legendary DC hardcore act Minor Threat have been immortalized over the years, largely due to kicking off a straight edge movement that flew in the face of an entertainment industry, whose primary message to youth was "go and get wasted dude!" People like Ian MacKaye and company, said no thanks, and went off to create their own scene. You have to respect that!

Minor Threat is a great band to introduce people to classic hardcore, primarily because their songs consist of simple melodic beats that are easy to get into. Unfortunately sometimes they're so simplistic, that they even make the Ramones look basic, and one can quickly tire of that after awhile. The opposite of course can be said of Fugazi, Minor Threat's protege, not my thing, but if you like post hardcore, it's an essential place to start.

Minor Threat

Betray

Seeing Red

Fugazi

Allright in revamping this list, I must confess that after many long decades Fugazi is finally growing on me, which is a sure sign I'm getting old, lol. But hey, your talking to an Exploited fan. I however realize that it was a bit of an oversight on my part though, to make a punk/hardcore list without having them on it, so...

The Waiting Room

Shut The Door

Not a problem. Glad to help you out.

In return, I just hope to see a spot for SNFU in the near future

Er...I love SNFU but I guess you could say I lowballed them, there a ways back just before 7 Seconds another fav of mine, but at least 4 more Canadian bands to come.

But thanks again, you made my day with the Death Sentence stuff, I still have my Stop Killing Me cassette from my skateboarding days, cheers.
