Default Punk Better Live?

I was at some kids part tonight, and he had his brothers band play. As they were playing I started thinking of all the punk shows I've been to, and I realized that most if not all punk songs/bands are WAY better live. Not to say that punk is bad on cd's and records, but I think it's wayyyy better when you are actually there while they are making the music and everyone is moshing, or singing along and stuff.. This might go for every genre.. I dunno, I've seen rap concerts live and I don't think they are good at all. I was just wondering who agrees with me, and maybe what all bands you've seen live and if you thought it was better than on your cd or record??

Here's a thought; let's stop labeling music and fighting over what genre a certain band is, and start listening to whatever pleases our ears no matter what anyone thinks of it! ;)

I agree with that.
Sadly I haven't seen a punk band that I have on c.d. only local ones, but I think it's the energy in the room that's the transforming factor..
Oh btw Mobilize man...I'm listening to 89X station and it's 1:32 and they're giving away free tickets to that 14th birthday bash lol........
Hope I get ****ing lucky man.

Bands in general are better live. Rap I agree isn't that great live. Mainly because a rapper isn't playing an instrument or anything like that. Its like a person singing along to a radio. Not very impressive.

Haha that would be ****in' awesome if you got that..

And to SERVINLEADER that is a good way of describing what a rap concert is like. Because that is pretty much all they are doing. A lot of the time they don't even sing along with it they just go WHOOP and jump up and down

Ive been to many shows before and I gota tell you it's a lot better seing bands play live because U can feel from close all the tension of the noise going through your ears. the best bands that Ive seen live play are, Monster Squad, Cheap Sex, All Out Attack, Clit 45, and The Causalties

I like live shows just because you get too see people and talk to them. But the music is always alot more fun live usually.

Yea thats a big plus too. Thats why I love local band shows. Because everyone there is pretty much on the same level. Everyone came to appreciate that particular band so you know you already have something in common.

Live music just goes so much harder. You do feel the energy and emotion. Its a great feeling. I used to trip out to see people crying in the crowd. I didn't understand it until I started going to shows. That feeling is the best.

you get the aggression that gets lost in the studio production. the CD may sound better technically, but you get a real feel for a band after seeing them live.

just the experience of seeing them live is good.
i saw TSOL live and they were way better sounding than on any cd. that was one of my favorite shows ever.
but some punk bands dont sound as good live. i saw anti flag at warped last year and to be honest, they were horrible. they might have just been having a bad day, but nothing sounded right.

I'm going to see Clit 45 and LCB in June it should be a fun show. And on topic I do prefer punk live because there is so much more energy(if the band has it) and it's much more fun.
