Default PiL to release new album

John Lydon, Public Image Ltd. return with first new album in 20 years - latimes.com

What are your predictions for Public Image Ltd's first album in twenty years? Is it going to be worth it? Is it just another Lydon money maker?

Personally, after all of the societal upheavals and musical progression, regression, and transgressions we've undergone since they've released anything half way decent—I know the sonic engineers who produced Metal Box are surely capable of creating some kind of post-modern masterpiece, or at least something more interesting than the non-entities they recorded toward the end of their run, in today's age.

There are a number of bands that are coming back after 15 to 20 years who are planning to release or have released something new. Ozzy Osbourne's solo work is one. In that case, speaking in terms of what bands 20 years later can sound like, I would probably be excited for this one. I know close to nothing about this band, but i'm sure in this day, they'll come up with something impressive.

I'm not really interested in John Lydon and a bunch of session musicians which is pretty much all P.I.L. has been since 'Album'.

If it was him, Jah Wobble, Martin Atkins & Keith Levine getting back together that would be a different story.

I think what will make me decide one way or another is any guest artists that appear on it. I imagine there's a great big long line of talented people who'd want to work with Lydon.

Fuck, I didn't even realize the original group had split. Less confident about this release now.

Check out Public Imitation Limited with Levine and Wobble and the singer from the Sex Pistols Experience to see what the original line up would look / sound like today apart from Lydon never having aged ha ha .

no hopes for it at all

in fact, i don't think i'll even bother downloading it, much less buying it

as with the Urbs, i feel everything's been downhill since "Album"

and as with him also, if only the original P.I.L. got back together again
