Their self-titled album is in the top 5 of all-time. Fast, furious and angry hardcore punk that bordered on metal at times. Such an amazing album.

Suicidal Tendencies were pretty much seen as a joke for years.

It wasn't until they put out stuff like How Will I laugh Today & Lights Camera Revolution that people took them seriously.

I never really warmed to their earlier punk stuff. In fact I'd say they're probably one of the worst punk bands ever to come out of the U.S.

You are a crazy person. I'm with BoY. Their self-titled is one of my favorite hardcore albums.

Yeah, I've never heard anyone say that either. It's the later ST albums that were considered a joke in my experience.

yeah, everything after "Lights Camera Revolution" became more and more jokey.... I have never heard anyone I know who likes Hardcore say a band thing about STs first album though. Hell, on Rate Your Music it holds a 3.72 rating and is #54 overall for hardcore punk.

So I pulled this one out of the archives last night. Great album. I can't comprehend thinking this album was a joke.

So are the Mentors records any good? I saw them on the 'Collectables' wall in a local record store and made some crack about being surprised they actually made records because I thought they were more famous for masturbating or taking a dump on stage than actually making music. The Record clerk chastised me a bit, saying their first record was actually pretty great.
