They were really good until I discovered bands like Teenage Bottlerocket who play essentially the same music but faster, catchier, and with better production.
|
And this somehow suddenly made the Ramones bad?
|
The thing I always liked about the Ramones was you knew it was them the second one of their songs starts because they had such a unique sound.
Most modern punk leaves me cold because I can listen to 100 different bands and barely tell any difference between them. |

You're the one who said they "were really good" after all. Good music gets aged, of course, but does it become bad because of that? (hint: No, it doesn't.) |

They were pretty energetic when I saw them, worked the crowd well and all. |

Well I could go and find the Green Day song, but I don't want to subject myself to listening to their 'music' (I despise that band immensely. ) |
show me the Descendents link. I am sure I can figure out the Green Day song if that is the case.

Anyhow in the end it doesn't really matter because of the preponderance of evidence of other rip-age: I Never Realized How Much Green Day Ripped Off Other Bands Until Their Game Came Out |
but really in their defense, virtually ever band has ripped off each other if you are just going by a riff here and there.

didn't The Jam and The Clash get into a major tussle over a riff? |

Personally, this is my go to MK remix of the track: And of course, you can't forget about Mufasa: And speaking of Mufasa and the popularity that the video generated, Nightcrawlers actually managed to get him to appear on an official collab recently, which is dope as hell. I guess you could say, the song has a storied history, and MK has just been one of the driving forces. |
Love the Idiot now.... but back then he was not on earth very often....
Much Better with his old band...still chaos though, part of the Punk charm.. |
