I disagree. MC5 was punk rock in the 60's and influenced hundreds of bands. They were so influential that members from other genres were influenced by them including Eddie Van Halen.

Doesn't mean the other did not have the i dont give a **** attitude. They were great guitarists no dont but they are def not punk.
