The Effigies
I've noticed there's no thread on this great band. Along with the likes of Saccharine Trust and Naked Raygun, they were influential as precursors to the post-hardcore sound that was to manifest in the guise of Fugazi etc later on in the 80s.
Any fans? Remains Nonviewable is a collection of their first 3 EPs and For Ever Grounded - it is well worth looking into. |

Effigies are one of my favorites from the Chicago scene.
That "Haunted Town" video is also mine, I used that profile for a short time, forgot the password, never bothered to reset it. Was going to turn it into more, but never did.

I also uploaded this, probably the most nitorious things to come out of Chicago. In an episode Nardwuar did with Fall Out Boy, they showed a video of Jello Biafra giving them the reissue of this album, on Alternative Tenticles of course.
One of the very first hardcore releases, as well as the first one put out by a band out of Chicago. Hardcore Punk - Music Genres - Rate Your Music
