NoMeansNo
One of my favorite bands of all time. They're pretty great.
Formed by brothers John and Rob Wright in the late '70s. They play progressive punk/jazzcore and they both shred on the drum and bass. John is an amazing drummer, pretty jazzy, and Rob does some awesome bass licks and riffs. My favorite album, is tie between them all . But I probably listen to 0+2=1 and Why Do They Call Me Mr Happy? the most. |

NoMeansNo is probably my favorite band to come out of Canada. They are unmatched to me, Punk could of called it a day after "Wrong" was released, the bar was set pretty high with that masterpeice. I would tell anybody to go out and get that album, as well as "Mama", those 2 are probably amongst my favorites.
One of my favorites videos lately: as well as this: That face at 1:53 is just amazing !

Andy Kerr and John Wright also played in The Infamous Scientists, who were fun. Get some of their stuff as well.
also from NoMeansNo, The Hanson Brothers... the DVD they out a few years back is also excellent. NoMeansNo are a band to be experienced live.

My fave Nomeansno track:
Wrong is a great album but my knowledge about them doesn't extend above this album.

Really like NoMeansNo but always get them a little mixed up with Shellac. Either way, they're both pretty damn cool.
Why Do They Call Me Mr. Happy? is a fairly important part of my library. I think I prefer Shellac, but I don't NEED to choose... |

a few others band in the NoMeansNo style that you may like as well if you have not heard of them:
Pigment Vehicle: Victim's Family: Show Business Giants: the above has members of NoMeansNo.

yeah, I am not overtly familiar with Alice Donut, I know of them and a few songs, but not enough to suggest anything by them.
