fashion punk
what do you have to say about all these 'fashion punk bands'. I honestly can't see them all being in it just for the fashion. sounds a bit rediculous to me. think some of them just do it for attention? i don't really mean attention, well sort of, but take the casualties, you think they're gonna have a few less of those 12 year old teenybopper fans if they decided to ditch the spikey hair? do you think this even bothers them? ever bother you how some people will eat sh*t up so quickly just because it's coming from someone with a mohawk and studded jacket? i don't really know where i'm going with this, but quite a few people say that part of punk is about not caring what other people think of the way you look(which isn't true for anybody, and you know it), but there's fashion and style and sh*t in the punk scene just like everywhere else. I think this is basically along the lines of those 'does image matter?' threads, so, uh, yeah. post.

I always thought the whole point of the original punk movement was that it was free thinking.
I guess that got missed somehow among the leather jackets & the mohawks

there are a lot of different 'definitions' of punk being thrown around today. i'm sure you know this. and there's another thing, how all the 'punks' out there are saying they're not conforming by having leather jackets and mohawks when more and more people are starting to do that every day.

fashion anything sucks.
music is about music. not about what you wear

well, i like the casualties, and yeah, they are pretty outrageous in their dress, kinda like they try too much and that who could ACTUALLY look like that and not be famous huh?
I am a mom, so I hung up mu spikes and studs and only go out with them when I got a night to myself.... my boots however....will only get hung up when I get a new pair... (there's a metaphore in there.......)

i don't think it's outrageous, many people dress like the casualties and aren't famous. it just seems like a lot of their socalled 'fans' don't see past the mohawks and studded belts and just like it because they're this street punk band with these hardcore punk looking guys, so they must be cool. i'm not saying they shouldn't dress like that, but it's rediculous how some people just act like it's so important,. and i never said i didn't like the casualties.

nope, I was just reffering to them becuz it seems that that was the band of subject at the time!
Personally, I like the punk dress of DK and Pistols and Martha and the Muffins...etc.... they are not trying too hard, that is more real to me!
