Wasn't really getting into the X song, personally. I dunno. I got onto iTunes and was listening to some of the samples they had. I liked that stuff better, but I'm gonna have to dig deeper on that one.

Was reeeeaaally digging that Birthday Party song. I knew about them, but never listened to them. So in comparison, how is the Birthday Party to Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds or Grinderman? Or are they equal? And what albums should I get from any one or all three of the bands?

Glad you liked it. Both The Birthday Party and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds are great. I think Grinderman is just okay but I know a lot of people disagree with me on that. For The Birthday Party I'd recommend checking out the album Junkyard, which is just wall-to-wall great. The Bad Seeds are harder to pin down to one specific album because they've released a lot of stuff, but Let Love In, Murder Ballads and Abattoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus are my personal favorites.

I like their first album which was just called The Birthday Party initially released under the band name The Boys Next Door. It is in iTunes under the album Hee-Haw with some additional tracks. Also two of their twelve inch EPs have been issued as a double Mutiny/ The Bad Seed with some really great tracks like Deep in the Woods, Swampland, Mutiny in Heaven.

Not sure I'd be calling The Birthday Party punk though?
