Manchester Punk Film Night
MDMArchive Film Evening
'Ain't Seen This Before' The Rise And Fall of the Nosebleeds - Punk Rediscovered FIRST EVER SHOWING! Friday 4th March 2005 at 7.30pm King's Arms, Bloom Street, Salford. A unique opportunity to see John Crumpton's previously UNSEEN 1977 documentary about Manchester punk legends, Ed Banger and the Nosebleeds. The Nosebleeds were one of the first acts to emerge on Rabid Records and would later become the band that Morrissey was fired from. Lead guitarist, Vini Reilly went on to fame and fortune with Factory Records’ Durutti Column, while Ed Banger became a lost legend. The film includes interviews and concert footage (filmed in steamy punk clubs) as well as a hilarious TV appearance on ' Granada Reports' with Tony Wilson. Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon and Manchester madmen, Alberto Y Lost Trios Paranoias are also featured. CP Lee will give a talk and the film will be introduced by a very special guest... Tickets are £5 each and are available at both branches of Vinyl Exchange. All proceeds will go to the DEC Tsunami Appeal. There will also be a fund-raising raffle featuring rare Manchester punk memorabilia. Come down, have a pint and relive the Manchester Punk experience! Manchester Punk Film Night |
