The Stooges are awesome. My favorite song by them is "I wanna be your dog".
|
all of fun house is arguably their best songs to me, thats the most vital album to check out first. my #1 fav song would be too hard to say since they got so many good things
|
They are spectacular in concert.
I saw em in Detroit...in 04? I even touched the man, I nearly dieeed. |
I would definitely agree with Fun House being my favorite record by them. It was just so free and chaotic.
|
Fun House is a great record and about this biopic from all the people to play Iggy Pop why Elijah Wood oh sorry I forgot about that long lost album where about Middle Earth lol bad jokes.Oh on an unrelated note I finally learned I Wanna Be Your Dog on bass I know it's easy but im a beginner so leave me alone.

They`re going to be at Sonisphere (Knebworth) this year, I`ve never managed to see this legendary band, so looking forward to it.

Iggys cool. Didn't know much about him until he did the contest here in NZ to re record the passenger for a TV advert. Was fun to enter the contest

Fun House is their least acknowledged album by many, which is a shame, cause it is their strongest. |

Whenever I heard of the Stooges all I ever heard about was how great Funhouse was. |
Maybe it is just the people I have met. 9 out of 10 times when people tell me about The Stooges, they never seem to talk about this one. Seems to be more a fan favorite I guess. I rarely hear people talk about "Fun House".
|
The Stooges are one of those groups, that people just feel they have to like as its the cool thing to do. The amount of people that I`ve met over the years, that say they love the Stooges (I`d guess most have only heard a few songs) usually amazes me, considering the lack of musical knowledge that some of these people have.
The Stooges were about energy and attitude which they had in abundance, which made up for their lack of quality in the song writing department. The story goes, that Iggy Pop was actually one of the first well known vocalists to be inspired by Jim Morrison when the Doors appeared in Detroit circa 68. He was so impressed to see Jim in a daze, falling on the floor and falling off the stage, that he knew he just had to incorporate some of this into his own act :finger: |
i love em
fave song is probably TV Eye (i wanted to say LA Blues but that's pretty pretentious elitist talk) |

I unfortunately don't have any album besides the fantastic Funhouse, but I have liked what I have heard from other albums. Gotta love how these guys were going absolutely nuts onstage in the late 60's. They made rock n roll look truly dangerous. |

<---------------music snob Funhouse is awesome. If you like them live, get Metallic KO. |
Dang and I saw that at the used book store the other day. I'll try to pick it up.
|
"Metallic 2X K.O." is the better version.
|
Hands down one of the most influencial bands ever. Some of my favs would be:
TV Eye Search and Destroy I Wanna Be Your Dog No Fun Raw Power |

I listened to the Juju album about a week ago, hadn't heard it in some time. That album is sooo good and I would actually call it one of the most impressive albums or if not the best of the whole post-punk genre. |
Gimme Danger is probably my favourite. I Need Somebody is fairly amazing to, and I enjoy Down On The Street.
|
Raw Power is best album. Ever. A bit sorry about all those mixing problems. Hard to pick one favourite song, but some of my favourites: Gimme Danger, I Wanna Be Your Dog, Search and Destroy, Penetration ...
From Iggys solo carrier - Lust for Life, Sixteen, I Wanna Live ... |

Am I the only one who thinks Fun House is better than Raw Power?
