Los Angeles is my favorite punk album. It doesn't have the same pure energy rush like other punk bands (think Agnostic Front or Minor Threat), but it hits every right spot with me. There's occasional bounces into keyboard/rockabilly good time vibes, the vocal togetherness is SO nice, there's loads of melodic/pop sensibility, and it's not lacking in energy.

Los Angeles is alright, but Under the Big Black Sun would have to be my favorite of theirs, they are really great live. I got to hold John Doe's hand, reminiscent of the line in White Girl I'd loved since I was thirteen, I'd nearly wet my dress. I love, love, love X.

X was a staple of my music diet when I was 20. Essential for any punk fan.

I concur with Paloma, Under the Big Black Sun is their best. Blue Spark is my favorite song by them.

X is one of my favorite punk bands. They were totally original and sounded way different from any of the southern california punk bands from the 70s. los angels and wild gift two of my most favorite punk albums.

I've seen them live on four different tours with three different guitar players, and although Billy Zoom is my favorite choice for guitar with X, they always sounded great each time.
X is easily one of my choices for a top ten punk band list.

X straddles the line between punk and folk with a certain grace. From Los Angeles and Wild gift to their later, softer material like See How We Are, they are excellent. Great band. I am totally indebted to my father for introducing me to these guys years ago, and though I didn't appreciate them at first, I have come full circle.
