Or Seventeen Seconds for that matter.

I've heard both of them, and neither comes close to their debut (or rather Boys Don't Cry, which is what I got).

What about Disintegration?

and won't the kids just love it, their first, is seriously brilliant. all d.i.y. stuff recorded here and there. blends a lot of styles but very very post-punk.

The Guana Batz

(Only because this seems to be the only place to discuss Psychobilly!)

This is a really tough call because I like so much post punk, but I'd probably have to go with Killing Joke as my favorite.

Where to start?

It's a little difficult to say because the band has gone through some distinctly different stylistic phases but I'd say you really can't go wrong with their second full-length What's THIS For...!:

i love a lot of stuff that came out of New York during the early eighties, how about a band that never hit their prime until the early nineties and still made headwind with what they were doing at the time? i love the abrasive and atonal works of Cop and Filth, but to tell the truth, it doesn't even begin to approximate the multidimensional depth of Gira and Jarboe's songwriting.

^ I can vouch for that. Soundtracks For the Blind is one of the biggest mindfuck albums a guy could ask for, which means bonus awesome points for them.

Goes without saying that post-punk is such a large term I couldn't possibly choose a favourite (Swans or no Swans). You could argue that bands as diverse as the Pogues, ABC, Pylon, DNA and Bauhaus are all post-punk in some way or other. Over the years (long before I got a LastFM account) I've listened to the Fall by far the most often though.

I really REALLY wish Josef K had released more. The Only Fun in Town is easily one of my favourite Post-Punk albums.
