I can't agree with this ^

After Curtis died I believe New Order went on to become a lesser band than they would have been.
There is some evidence to suggest the band would have gone in the same, or at least similar direction had Curtis lived and I believe Joy Division would have blown New Order clean out of the water had it worked out that way.

I like New Order's sound better, but Joy Division is more talented. I agree that they could have gotten better if Ian wouldn't have kicked it. New Order doesn't have half as good as lyrics as Joy Division did, but I don't think Joy Division could have carried off "Ceremony" quite as well as it is as a New Order song, which is important as it's my favorite. I think New Order carried on for far too long though

Even so, Joy Division (in their own right) > New Order.

Gang of Four don't even come close to Joy Division.

If there's ever a case for most overrated Post Punk band Gang Of Four would walk it.

I find them boring personally.

They didn't really do anything that Wire or A Certain Ratio hadn't already done better before.

One of the things I enjoy most about post punk is the experimentation and the diversity behind it.

Gang Of Four lacked both of those. There are much better post punk bands that should be talked about. Lucifer Sam posted about Savage Republic a few days ago, they piss over anything Gang Of Four ever did.

I love Gang of Four, wouldn't say they're overrated in the slightest. The one post punk band I never really saw the BIG appeal in is Echo and the Bunnymen. I mean I think they're OK, but I never feel the urge to put them on.
